We would like to invite everyone to our reestablished New Braj Rathayatra! Last year, after 17 years of separation Lord Jaganntha, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra came back to give their divine darshan to all the people, animals, trees, plants, and jivas present in Badger. The devotees here rebuilt a beautiful cart and so many people helped prepare for the festival. Our hope is that everyone will return this year and bring more and more guests.
The festivities will commence on Saturday August 10th at 10:00 AM with a blissful 12 Hour Kirtan featuring Kishori Mohan and Sudevi Dasi, Vijay Krsna and the Kirtaniyas Rasika Covin and Sarasvati Dasi), Thakura Das, Jahnava Chan-Edwards, and many many more! You are invited to camp on Saturday night under the stars. A small donation is requested if you stay overnight. Hot showers and porter pottys will be provided.
Sunday August 11th, the Rathayatra parade will begin at 10:30 AM at the main gate in New Braj. The procession will take us around Badger and up onto New Braj Marg for continued parikrama. We will reach the pavilion at about 12:30 PM. Snacks will be provided along the way culminating in a maha feast. A day full of kirtan, musical performances, dance, dramas, and much more is planned for the pleasure of all the devotees.
Our first ever “Curd Cook Off” will be underway after the parade, with the top three cooks earning special prizes. Please contact us if you would like to enter as a cook. Participants can judge the curd for a donation during the entertainment. There will also be a raffle to help raise funds for New Braj with a very special grand prize and numerous other gifts.
